The two-part event, moderated by experts from the French Institute of Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI), offered a space for discussions on concrete policy paths for the post-2020 global biodiversity framework, in view of upcoming negotiations at SBI3, and raised awareness on the importance of transparency and responsibility as a COP15 topic of discussion.
Participants exchanged with experts and peers on the main milestones, challenges and solutions related to ensuring a strong transparency and responsibility framework, which contributes to reaching the CBD’s 2050 Vision while fostering knowledge exchange, capacity-building and cooperation amongst all biodiversity actors.
It also allowed participants to openly share views in an informal way, with a view to enabling common ground prior to the many rounds of negotiation set to be held in 2021.
This workshop will be part of a series of events opening a space for informal discussion enabling the main stakeholders to the CBD to share information and best practices, and to develop their positions regarding key topics of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework.
