Discussions focused on the zero draft released by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity earlier this month, and specifically 2030 and 2050 goals, the action targets – including for restoration, protection, sustainable use, mainstreaming and consumption, benefit-sharing, etc. – and enabling conditions, review of implementation, responsibility and transparency.
This activity allowed for common positions to be found between the EU and its member states, and African Group countries, before the Open-Ended Working Group 2 to take place in February 2020.
