Hosted on 31 March 2021, the webinar, involving a high-level panel, opened the space to discuss how to scale-up finance for biodiversity and achieve a better alignment of investments and policies with the combined needs of nature and people. More than 270 participants joined this webinar, which provided valuable insights from public and private sectors on investments for biodiversity. “The SBI debate is not where it should be. It is very much about the small Official Development Assistance category. What we have done today is bringing the debate where it should be. The Global Goals for Nature and Climate Series will consist of two programs, which will explore dimensions of the Post-2020 Pavilion’s Call to Action for an Equitable, Carbon-Neutral, Nature-Positive World that was launched at the UN Biodiversity Summit in 2020. These two 60-minute TV programs are co-produced with earthx.org and will be televised the week of Earth Day, 2021, by Earthxtv.

 | 12-25 May, Vertical Integration Dialogues with Local and Subnational Governments on the Post 2020 Biodiversity Framework With the project support, ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability and its Cities Biodiversity Center (CBC) organizes a series of vertical integration dialogues across May and June 2021 with six selected partner countries, (South Africa, Peru, Colombia, Canada, China, Mexico) to facilitate information exchanges between local and subnational governments and the national government on key policy issues arising from the post-2020 global biodiversity framework. |
