Discussing Uganda’s ambitions for post-2020
The second national workshop organized from February 11th to 13th, in cooperation between the project and the National Environment Management Agency (NEMA) will focus on sharing ideas on the zero draft of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework, prepared by the co-chairs and released in January 2020.

The objective of the national workshops is to facilitate a platform to share ideas and contributions on the national process leading to post-2020. The first of those events took place in August 2019 just before the first OEWG.  It focused on access and benefit sharing (ABS) and digital sequence information (DSI) as well as natural capital accounting/mapping of ecosystems.

Participants from ministries, departments, agencies, academia, research institutions, representatives from the private sector, IPLCs, NGOs as well as focal points of several multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs) attended this second national workshop.
